At St Michael & All Angels Stonebridge, we are living to make a difference by being a Christian heart at the centre of the community. Everyone is welcome.

On Sundays we worship together at a Parish Eucharist at 10am in the church, and at 1:30pm there is a teleconference Service of the Word, “Church on the Phone” for those who dial in remotely.

We are so glad that many people, “new” and “old”, joined us to celebrate Holy Week and Easter Sunday 2024!

It’s now Eastertide, the season of forty days between the celebration of the Resurrection on Easter Sunday, and the Ascension. This Sunday 14th April is the Third Sunday of Easter.

For this week’s news, see our pewsheet “The Messenger” here in Word or PDF format. During this season, we read each week from the Acts of the Apostles, reminding ourselves of events in the very early church after Jesus’ Ascension to Heaven. Our Gospel readings centre on Jesus’ appearances after the resurrection as more disciples meet and recognise the risen Lord. Today’s readings are Acts 4:5-12; Psalm 23; 1 John 3:16-24; and John 10:11-18.

This week’s image is one of Jesus as the Good Shepherd, taken from one of our stained glass windows in the south wall of the church.

Our Saturday Service is held at 5:00pm. We have a time of Praise and Worship followed by a service of Holy Communion. You might find this useful if your work patterns or activities make it difficult to attend our main Parish Eucharist on Sunday mornings. We use the same Bible readings as the main Sunday service. Perhaps you would like to sing worship songs together, or you like a smaller and less formal service (which is held in our beautiful Lady Chapel). Everyone is welcome! (Maybe you would like to try an extra time of worship as a Lenten exercise, in which case Saturday services or Morning Prayer at 09:15 four days a week might suit?)

Hall bookings

We’re allowed to meet again! Have you been waiting to celebrate something or start a new class or activity?

We have a hall large enough for 120 guests available to hire on a casual basis at weekends including Saturdays until 10pm or some weekday evenings. We are also open to community groups, classes and courses using the space more regularly. The halls may be viewed by appointment on Sundays and sometimes Saturdays, and there is a hall booking phone line (07704 694432) taking calls on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Wishing you every blessing

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly
